Hear me out, since Forza Motorsport (both the game and the franchise) has been given the axe recently, Gran Turismo will no longer worry about competition and you know what that means? The franchise will regress. Just look at EA's Madden NFL franchise as an example. Gran Turismo will be the only simcade racing game franchise out there and that's not good. Competition breeds greatness and since Forza Motorsport won't be keeping Gran Turismo in check anymore, Gran Turismo will probably never reach greatness like it once did with the fourth game ever again because of the lack of competition. So, I wouldn't be celebrating the death of Forza Motorsport if I were you. Also, no, the Forza Horizon franchise doesn't count as competition to Gran Turismo. Open world racing games are a lot different from track racing games.

For some reason, certain cars and manufacturers still haven't made it to the GT franchise. Koenigsegg, Hennessey, Apollo, Noble, and Ascari (not the race course in GT6) comes to mind among others. Heck, IndyCar and NASCAR are still missing. What's the deal here? Sony has the money to get the licenses from these brands so what is stopping them? Does Sony doesn't want to fork over a lotta money for the licenses or what? Come on, Sony and Polyphony, give the players new cars to play with.
