In-game description[]
"The black-bodied NASCAR machine in which Hamlin attained 8 wins."
Denny Hamlin is the face of the leading Toyota team, Joe Gibbs Racing, alongside Kyle Busch. Hamlin tends to be slightly overshadowed by Kyle, who's flashy driving and personality gathers all the attention, but everyone nods to his spectacular skill.
Virginia born Hamlin was not wealthy growing up, and it is very well known in the NASCAR world that his rise to the premier series in NASCAR could not have been achieved without the full support of his family. Answering to their expectations, Hamlin reached the Sprint Cup in 2005.
Hamlin's driving style is almost opposite to Kyle who rushes immediately to the top in the beginning. Hamlin raises his position gradually, and bides his time like a crouching tiger. He is well known to be very good at utilising his tyres skillfully, and is a rock-steady driver. However he has also shown races in which he rocketed past the competition with incredible speed, which proves that he is an all-around driver who can handle any situation or driving style.
Since its 2007 Sprint Cup debut, the team's Toyota Camry has evolved over the years, and has now gained the ability to chase down the Chevrolets alongside the Fords. Their main sponsor is FedEx, the world famous American express delivery service. The #11 of his car and the FedEx sponsor has been unchanged since Hamlin has joined the team, and is his trademark.
