The 2011 Joey Logano #20 The Home Depot TOYOTA CAMRY is a 2011 NASCAR race car produced by Toyota. It appears in Gran Turismo 5 (as part of the Spec 2.0 update) and Gran Turismo 6.

In the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Joey Logano drove this car to a 24th place points finish with no wins.

In-game description[]

"The car of Joey Logano, the driver who beat all the youngest driver records."

Up-and-coming young driver Joey Logano will no doubt become one of NASCAR's all-time greats someday because this kid seems to have it all.

Born in 1990, Logano crossed the finish line first in only his 17th round of the 2009 Sprint Cup at the age of 19 years and 35 days, making him the youngest ever race winner in NASCAR's top racing series and garnering him the 2009 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year award. Before this young man from Middletown, Connecticut, achieved this feat, the youngest winner in the Sprint Cup series was Kyle Busch at 20 years old. In a racing series full of older, veteran drivers, no one ever imagined that a teenager would win a race in America's preeminent stock car series.

He is also the youngest ever driver to win a NASCAR Nationwide Series race (the NASCAR series one notch below Sprint Cup) when he won the Meier 300 at Kentucky Speedway in 2008 in only his third Nationwide start at the age of 18 years and 21 days.

Logano was given a challenging task when he was chosen by NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs to replace one of the superstars of NASCAR, Tony Stewart. Becoming part of one of the leading teams in NASCAR also meant he inherited the mega-dollar sponsors and key personnel that helped to make Stewart a two-time Sprint Cup series champion. Ready to compete at the top, Joey has lived up to everyone's expectations by setting a record for qualifying in the 2010 season and continues to improve and outperform beyond all expectations.

Trivia[]

  • Midway during the season, Toyota updated the headlight and taillight decal of the Camry to match a full model change of the road-going car. The updated light decals (also used in the 2012 season) is not featured in the games.
  • The scheme used likely originated from around late May to August, as Logano turned 21 on May 24, 2011 (between that year's All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600) and could start using Coors Light Pole Award decal instead of "21 Means 21" one, while the new Toyota light decals debuted at the Bristol night race held on August 27 (the then-new Camry road car launched four days earlier).
