The 2013 DeltaWing is a race car produced by DeltaWing. It only appears in Gran Turismo 6.

The car appears to be the #0, driven by Andy Meyrick and Katherine Legge, who participated in the 2013 American Le Mans Series season. It finished the championship in 7th place overall, placing second-last in the P1 class driver's standings.

In-game description[]

"The 2013 model, with a new Mazda engine and increased power."

The DeltaWing is a prototype racing car developed by DeltaWing Racing Cars of the United States.

Initially the car was planned for the 2012 and later IndyCar series, but with the cooperation of IMSA owner Don Panoz, the target was set for the "Garage 56", a new category set in the Le Mans 24-hour race for the advancement of new technology. The car was entered in racing at the Le Mans 24-hour race starting in 2012.

The greatest characteristic of the car is its triangular body, with an extremely narrow front tread width. The design greatly reduces air resistance, and the car achieves a CD value of 0.24 despite its disadvantageous open body. Because the necessary downforce is created from the venturi structure underneath the car, the car has no aerodynamic devices such as wings, other than its vertical fin for improving straight line stability.

The 2012 model was powered by the engine from their partner that year; a 4-cylinder 1.6 L turbo from Nissan, tuned to produce approximatively 295 BHP. For the new 2013 season the engine was changed to a Mazda 4-cylinder 2 L turbo. Élan Motorsports Technology owned by Don Panoz has tuned the engine to 345 BHP, and has reinforced the monocoque body as well in the new model.

In the 2013 season the car was entered in the P1 category of the ALMS as a works team. In its initial rounds there were still some development issues getting the car just right, but by the 6th round at Road America they finished 5th overall and 3rd in class for their first podium finish, showing the true potential of the car.

  • For the last three races of the 2013 ALMS season, a coupe version of the car with closed cockpit was used; this variant was not featured in-game.
