The 2013 Matt Kenseth #20 Dollar General/Home Depot TOYOTA CAMRY is a 2013 NASCAR race car produced by Toyota. It only appears in Gran Turismo 6.
In the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Matt Kenseth (who was a replacement for the outgoing Joey Logano, which moved to Team Penske's #22) drove this car to seven victories, and finished as runner-up to Jimmie Johnson by 19 points.
In-game description[]
"The first Joe Gibbs Racing car of Kenseth after his team change."
"When you look over your shoulder there's Kenseth." Near the end of the race, the driver waiting silently with feline finesse, the one that is in a good position to swoop in and take the win, is Matt Kenseth. He started full participation in the top tier NASCAR series from 2000, from Roush Racing, the top team of Ford. That year he attained his first victory and became Rookie of the Year.
It was definitely an impressive rookie year, but Kenseth didn't let it go to his head. While being in the rough and tough battlefield of stock car racing, he always racks up points while hardly ever damaging his machine. With this style he's established for himself, he won his first overall championship in 2003. The deciding factor in his victory was this incredible stability. Of the 36 races in the season, he finished in the top 10 in 25 races, which accounts for close to 70%. He only won 1 of those races but he won the title; this was a feat only Kenseth could pull off.
With his second conquering of the Daytona[1] 500, Kenseth undoubtedly had a permanent seat with the top drivers of NASCAR. However after the 2012 season, he left Roush with whom he had raced for 14 years. He then joined Joe Gibbs Racing. Perhaps it was the change of car and the team that gave him a good refresher, as in 2013 he won 4 races by the end of the first half of the season, showing that he had both the stability and the strength to win.
He has oval racing down to a science, and once he sees his chance he will not relent. The will to win hidden behind the cold, cool driving style is a welcome addition for the Toyota team.
