Trivia[]

  • In the course of the championship weekend, both the Manufacturers and Nations Cup titles were all determined in a tiebreaker, and none of the Michelin Drivers of the Day were respective race winners (except for the Nations Cup Regional Finals, which was won by Coque López, the winner of the EMEA Regional Finals).
  • Four technical failures (three hardware and one software) on the player rigs were recorded during the entire event, all but one occurring in seat number four:
    • During the GR GT Cup repechage, Valerio Gallo's handbrake button failed. Subsequently after the race, the wheel was replaced during the intermission between the repechage and the start of grand finals.[2]
    • During the GR GT Cup Grand Finals, Andika Maulana's game crashed during the first lap, knocking him out of the race.[3]
    • After a trouble-free Nations Cup Regional Finals, the television of Mazda team's rig abruptly switched off in the middle of the first race of the Manufacturer's Cup Grand Finals, as it was (accidentally) set to enter standby mode after a set time.[4][5] The setting was cleared in time for Mazda to return to a (technical) trouble-free second race.
    • During the Nations Cup Grand Finals, Baptiste Beauvois' wheel suffered from a failure of unknown origin.[6] Beauvois' failure was the only one not to occur in the fourth rig; he played on the eighth seat instead.[7]
    • In addition, a misconfiguration in the race setting for the Semi-Final A of the GR GT Cup (being incorrectly set to 15 laps instead of the intended 25 laps) resulted in the start of the race being aborted and the entire LAN lobby being remade.
C8 Corvette at World Finals

The C8 Corvette shown during the World Finals weekend.

  • A C8 Corvette (with a Gran Turismo logo) was one of few cars that was displayed during the weekend. While the appearance of the car on a World Finals weekend does not necessarily mean a plan for in-game inclusion, the car did appear one update after the event (version 1.27, released in December 2022).
    • However, the car shown during the event is a convertible with Z51 Performance Package parts, while the car that appears in the game is a regular coupe. The car shown during the event was also the car reviewed by the Evo magazine, as it had the same plate (FC 8111).
  • Throughout and after the championship weekend, replica races were held were held in Sport Mode in form of Daily Races and a series of three-race exhibition races that replicate the championship race, as well as Daily Races replicating the qualifiers. A pair of limited-time, single player races replicating the championship races were also available between November 24, 2022 to January 3, 2023; visiting the menu for the first time grants players the Red Bull X2019 25th Anniversary.
