Team Spain (Jose Serrano, Coque López, and Pol Urra) won the 2023 Nations Cup.
Nissan won the 2023 Manufacturers Cup with the 2018 GT-R GT3.
The 2023 Gran Turismo World Series is the sixth season of the Gran Turismo World Series, and the second season held in Gran Turismo 7 and under the GTWS name.
The online season, held in one season, was held from May 13 to June 3 for Nations Cup and June 7 to July 1 for the Manufacturers Cup, with two live events held throughout the year.
In a "teams of countries" format only used for that year, Spain (represented by Jose Serrano, Coque López, Pol Urra) won the Nations Cup, while Nissan won the Manufacturers Cup, the first title for a non-Toyota allied manufacturer.
This season marked the first year for Fanatec as an official GTWS partner (Fanatec previously supplied wheels for the 2019 World Tour in Tokyo due to emergency circumstances surrounding Thrustmaster wheels at that event), and the final year for BBS Japan and Sony Alpha as official GTWS partners, as their partnership contracts expired at the end of the year.
Online Season[]
- The following content is taken from Sport Mode (GT7)/Championships#2023; only official season races are listed in this page.
The online season took place from May 13 to June 3 for Nations Cup and June 7 to July 1 for the Manufacturers Cup. With only one season instead of two, the online official season was significantly shortened for 2023, a trend that followed to subsequent GT7-era seasons.
New for 2023 are differentiated lap counts for GT1 and GT2/GT3 League players, where lower league players play for a shorter distance (indicated in brackets). Additionally, Nations Cup qualifying is done on per-country basis where a country's top three players (out of a specified number of countries per region) makes it to the live events. This Nations Cup qualifying format was reverted for the 2024 season.

Starting from 2023 season, GTWS live events are open to the general public through purchase of tickets. Additionally, the Viewers Gift campaign introduced in the previous year's World Finals became permanent starting in 2023, by simply watching the stream from the game.

Standings[]
For 2023, there was no per-event points standings, as there were only two broadcast events.
Online Manufacturers Cup Season (GT1 League)[]
McLaren (live event car pictured) won the 2023 online Manufacturers Cup season.
In the online Manufacturers Cup standings, top 12 manufacturers advance to the live events. In event any of the partner manufacturers (Toyota, Mazda, or Genesis) fell out of top 12, they would have replaced the lowest ranked non-sponsor manufacturer. This occurred for the first time in the Manufacturers Cup history, where Genesis, finishing 13rd in the standings, bumped 12th-place finisher Ferrari from the live events.
The best three results (out of seven rounds) counted towards the championship.

Online Nations Cup Season (GT1 League)[]
As the 2023 Nations Cup live events are based on "teams of nations" format, the online qualifying works as follows:
- Countries: Determined by the highest placed player of each country in the overall GT1 League standings.
- Players: Determined by the top 3 players in the respective country's GT1 League standings.
Each region is capped to a set number of countries, for a total of 12 participating countries:
- Europe, Middle East, Africa: 5
- North America: 2 (both United States and Canada automatically qualify as these are the only countries in that region)
- Central/South Americas: 2
- Asia: 2
- Oceania: 1
Bold indicates qualified countries.
For privacy of players who have yet to qualify for live events, PSN IDs are used throughout this section. PSN IDs refer to current ID as of creation of the article and may not reflect their handle at the time of qualification. Only countries that made it to top 100 are listed.

Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 As Genesis was a GTWS partner, Genesis qualified to the live events over Ferrari.
- ↑ Chuupaghetti is from Philippines, but played under a PSN ID registered as Singaporean as Philippines does not have PlayStation Network. Had the Singapore team qualified, Chuupaghetti would not be eligible for the live events under residency rules.
- ↑ The Gran Turismo website (and in-game since Gran Turismo Sport) uses the Olympics Chinese Taipei flag to represent Taiwan.
- ↑ As specified in the Terms and Conditions (page is for 2024 season), the top-ranked Croatian driver won a GTWS T-shirt regardless if they qualified for the live events or not.
- ↑ As State of Nagaland residents are ineligible to compete, if the highest ranking driver (or any of the Top 3 drivers) were resident(s) of that state, their participation would be given to next eligible driver.
