The Manufacturers Cup portion of the of the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series World Finals weekend took place on December 7, 2024.

Entry List[]

The Manufacturers Cup race consists of the top 12 manufacturers in the GT1 League's Global Manufacturer Rankings of the 2024 Online Series, with the partner manufacturers being granted "immunity" from failing to qualify. Each manufacturer has three drivers, one chosen from the best driver in the GT1 League of the online series for each region (Americas, EMEA, Asia-Oceania).

(P) indicates a partner manufacturer, which has a guaranteed entry regardless of if they finished outside of the top 12 in the online series. (fc) indicates a former champion team. (Defending champion Nissan failed to qualify.)

Note that the car numbers are decided from online season rankings.

Notes[]

  1. AMG was referred as "Mercedes-AMG" throughout the event, except by commentators.
  2. Ryo Kumata substituted regular Audi driver Shota Sato for undisclosed reasons.
  3. Walsen was a substitute for Igor Fraga, as Fraga had to compete in the Super GT Suzuka 350 km race taking place the same weekend as the GTWS World Finals, which was postponed from its original date in August due to Typhoon Shanshan.
  4. Genesis finished 17th in the online standings, therefore qualifying through partner immunity. This had the effect of Lamborghini, who finished 12th in the online standings, failing to qualify for the live events.

Qualifying[]

Qualifying took place over three sessions, each with progressively softer tires. The first two sessions are traditional, Formula One-style knockout qualifying lasting for few minutes where the slowest three teams are eliminated each session, while the final session is a one-lap shootout.

Bolded lap times indicate the fastest lap time in that session. Names below the lap time indicates which driver set the time.

Grand Finals[]

Although the race was expected to display superiority of midship cars in the wet, the race was dominated by front-engined cars, primarily the BMW, Lexus, and Genesis teams. While the BMW team won the race, Lexus managed held off the hard-charging Genesis squad to ensure the points gap remained in Lexus' favor to clinch the championship, even in absence of their ace driver from the Americas region, Igor Fraga.

The Chevrolet team made a shining display throughout the race, only for it to be undone by a late-race collision. However, the Chevrolet squad did manage to finish tenth for two solitary points, leaving Audi as the sole team not to score points all year.
