The AMG Mercedes 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '92 is a race car produced by Mercedes-Benz. It appeared in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo 5, and Gran Turismo 6.
It appears to be the #3 driven by Klaus Ludwig, who achieved a 1st place finish in the 1992 DTM Driver's Championship.
In-game description[]
"The ultimate 190E that dominated the DTM with its small body and strong engine."
The 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans was marred by one of the most horrific accidents in the history of motorsports. And in the center of that tragedy was Mercedes-Benz. The company didn't return to big-time motorsports until the mid 1980s. Part of the comeback was led by the compact 190E 2.3-16[1] that raced in the 1986 DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft, or German Touring Car Championship).
The 190E 2.3-16[1] racer was a homologation machine made specifically for touring car races, based on the production 190E. It was powered by a Cosworth-tuned 2.3-liter DOHC inline-4. But the 2.3-16 failed to produce results, being completely shut out after winning its first two races. Things got even worse the following year when BMW introduced the M3. The 2.3-16 didn't achieve a single victory.
In 1988, Mercedes-Benz made revisions to the car, and created the 190E 2.5-16.[2] Displacement for the engine was increased to 2.5 liters, which accounted for 311 HP. In 1990, a large rear wing and wider fenders were added in the "Evolution II" edition. Power once again went up, this time to 328 HP. The Evolution II showed its true power during the 1992 season, boasting 16 wins in 24 races. Mercedes took the top three spots in the driver's points, making the 190E 2.5-16[2] the overall winner of that year's DTM series.

Trivia[]
- The Dekra logos were censored in GT5 and GT6, possibly due to licensing issues.
- A more extreme form of censorship is present in GT PSP. The large "Sonax Autopflege" logos were replaced with indecipherable blocks, and the "Boss" logo behind the front fender was removed. The reasons behind these are unknown (although licensing difficulties during GTPSP could be a reason), as both logos returned in GT5 and stayed in GT6.
- In the GT PSP E3 2009 trailer, it had no censorship likely because it was copied over from GT4; the Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 and the Audi R8 Race Car '01 was also shown in the trailer uncensored.

- A rival car in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters special event in Gran Turismo 7 features a livery that is reflective of this car, with some decals replaced with fictional Gran Turismo sponsors, such as AMG being replaced by AMT due to the base car for the livery, being branded in Mercedes-Benz rather than Mercedes-AMG, making it not possible to use AMG decals.
- Ironically, the liveries in GT7's Super Formula Events contains Honda and Toyota logos depending on the engine of the Dallara SF23 Super Formula '23, which cannot be done in the Livery Editor with only default decals as said logos are only available to their respective brands.
