The car appears to be the #8 driven by Nicola Larini, who achieved a 1st place finish in the 1993 DTM Driver's Championship.
In-game description[]
- "This is one of the most recognizable cars from the 1990s German touring car championships known as the DTM. After regulations were loosened in 1993, the DTM become a platform for developing some very powerful cars. One of these was the Alfa 155 2.5 V6 TI, which was fielded by the Alfa Romeo works team. Winning 12 out of 20 races in 1993, it secured the championship title for both driver Nicola Larini and the manufacturer. The DTM later became a more international competition before being discontinued in 1996. This meant that Alfa Romeo would go down in history as the only non-German manufacturer to win the series. It's one of the most significant DTM cars whose uniqueness lies in its heritage."

Car Index (GT7)[]
The DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) series allowed significant vehicle upgrades from 1993 to 1996, leading to DTM cars with a wide variety of electronic control devices like ABS, and traction control. The cars were laden with such high levels of technology that they were often referred to as "F1 in a box."
The Alfa Romeo 155 entered the DTM in 1993 and experienced success right off the bat, trouncing the formidable AMG Mercedes-Benz 190E to win its maiden race. It won 12 of 20 races that year, taking home both the Drivers' and Manufactures' Championships. This car, known as the 155 V6 TI, was built based on the 155 sedan that appeared in 1992. The 2.5-liter 60-degree V6 generated 414 BHP sent to all four wheels.
In 1995, the 155 adopted a 6-speed sequential paddle-shift semi-automatic, similar to those used by Formula 1 cars. But it wasn't enough to beat the up-and-coming Mercedes-Benz teams that year. In 1996, Alfa entered with a 90-degree V-type engine that put out 483 BHP. As a result, the 155 took ten wins in 26 races at 13 events, besting both Mercedes-Benz (seven wins) and Opel (nine wins). However, the 155 lagged behind in points and left without retaking the title. At the end of the season, the DTM series integrated with the ITC, and the DTM was gone, for a while.

Jeremy[]
Among Alfa Romeo's recent contributions to motorsport, this car really turned a lot of heads. The street-legal 155 was styled by the Italian design house I.DE.A Institute in 1992. And a year later, in 1993, the race-ready 155 2.5 V6 TI was born. The improvements made to its design were nothing short of perfection! In fact, this car took 12 wins in the DTM series! An incredible feat indeed! Behind its wheel were former F1 drivers Nicola Larini and Alessandro Nannini. In the series, Larini took ten wins, while Nannini took two. Nannini actually had a terrible helicopter in 1990, in which his arm was severed and had to be reattached. To facilitate his return to racing, the 155 had to be specially outfitted. So those two wins in 1993 were truly something! It really proved the awesome power of the former F1 driver.

Trivia[]
- In GTPSP, GT5, and GT6, the DEKRA logos were removed, possibly due to licensing issues. Said logos were reinstated in GT7.
- Despite being a DTM vehicle, it is listed under Gr.4, due to the pace of the car being similar to other Gr.4 cars.
- It is also currently the oldest car in the Gr.4 class.
- In GT7's Livery Editor, choosing the Default option in Racing Number portion of Racing Items will not restore the car's default car number boxes. Additionally, if a car with default livery is used in a Sport Mode race that places mandatory number boxes, some of the car's default livery design will be blocked off by the number boxes, while the spot where the original number boxes were will be blank.
