"Alfa Romeo's MiTo hatchback brings a dash of Italian flair to the compact car segment."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT7's car collection

The Alfa Romeo MiTo '09 is a hatchback produced by Alfa Romeo. It appears in Gran Turismo 6, Gran Turismo Sport, and Gran Turismo 7.

Colors[]

Three colors are available for this car:

  •   Alfa Red
  •   Bianco Spino
  •   Etna Black

In-game description[]

"The design of this FF hot hatch bears a strong resemblance to the Alfa Romeo 8C. You can really feel the power of its 1.4L turbocharged straight-four engine when you put your foot down! It's a solidly built car with a very stable suspension. Perfect for taking those corners at high speed!"
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
"Sure, the chassis might be based on a Fiat Grande Punto, but this is an Alfa Romeo through and through. Its excellent suspension allows for smooth, sharp turning... And its 1.4L turbocharged engine is both quick and responsive. You'll know as soon as you put your foot down that this car means business!"
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Used Car Dealership

"Excellent handling and controllability, combined with cute looks."

The 147 had been Alfa Romeo's entry level model since its debut in 2000, but the 3-door hatchback Mito took over its role in 2008, one rung lower, in the B segment.

The "Mi" of MiTo stands for Milan, a place with close ties to Alfa Romeo and where the company's design studios are located. "To" refers to the first two letters of Torino, the center of the Italian automotive industry and production. And "MiTo," as its own word, means "Myth" or "Legend" in Italian.

One size smaller than the 147, and designed at the Alfa Romeo design center, the MiTo's front/rear end and overall look are all reminiscent of the awesome 8C Competizione; as such, it was welcomed by Alfa fans for having a balance of cute, traditional styling, as well as cutting-edge design. The car shares components with the Fiat Grande Punto, but has been tuned with that distinctive Alfa Romeo taste in mind. Due to its flexibility, and direct handling characteristics, which lent it excellent control at the limit, many called this car best in its class when it bowed.

Its power comes from a 1.4-liter DOHC turbo, with the primary 1.4 Sports model producing 152 BHP/169.9 lb-ft, and is fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission. With a maximum speed of 134 mph, and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 8.0 seconds, performance is exemplary for its class.

Café Conversations (GT7)[]

There's no doubt about it—this hot hatch defined the 2000s. It's literally bursting with refinements to styling and driving experience. The styling in particular brings to mind the 8C Competizione. Truly, it's a design that only Alfa Romeo is capable of thinking up. The precision handling will make you feel one with the car. Indeed, you've really got something special here!

Fabio Filippini[]

This car is the 'baby' of the Alfa Romeo line. Regardless, its design recalls the stylistic features of the extreme 8C Competizione. Take the curved sensual surfaces, teardrop headlights, round taillights... And the 'five-circle' alloy wheels—all classic[1] elements of Alfa Romeo design. Its insanely compact proportions make it seem like a smaller version of the big and sporty 8C. Indeed, so packed with energy is this car that it seems ready to explode. The glass surfaces are extremely small and the rear window very slanted. Surely this makes the tailgate hard to use. But as we all know... Alfa Romeo has never made practicality their main objective!
