In-game description[]

The final A110 model, the 1600S, debuted in 1973. The A110's engine had continually been improved and updated over the years, but the final A110/1600S received a highly tuned version of Renault 16 engine. The rear suspension was changed to a double wishbone type carried over from the most recent A310, and the tire size was also reduced. Due to these changes, maneuverability was improved greatly.

At this time, Alpine was gaining a series of victories in international rallies. In order to avoid the placement of modification limits due to engine displacement size, they dared to select a 1,605 cc engine that just crossed into the higher class category. In this way, they would go against rivals with larger displacement engines but would be allowed to make major modifications. And against such rivals, the A110 did very well.

Several variations of the 1600S were available, but most were of three tires. First, the 1600SC made for France, was equipped with two Weber 45DCOE carburetors. Next, the 1600SI was made to be equipped with electronic fuel injection. The two cars' produce 138 HP @ 6,000 rpm, and the 5-speed MT enables them to travel at a maximum speed of 130 mph. These figures are marvelous for a 1,600 cc car. However, its 700 kg lightweight body played a bigger part in its performance than its engine.

The third model, the 1600SX, premiered in 1976. Its engine was detuned to 93 HP @ 6,000 rpm, and its top speed dropped to 118 mph. However, on-board comfort improved and it was welcomed by consumers who did not have any interest in motorsports.

The A110 experienced unwavering popularity even after its successor, the A310, debuted in 1971. Overall, 7,160 cars were produced and production ended in 1977.
