In-Game Description[]

"The Aston Martin DB5 is truly a rare gem, both in terms of price and its head-turning allure. And we all know who's responsible for that, don't we? That's right, Bond. James Bond—from the hugely popular British-born 007 movie series. The DB5 which appeared in 'Goldfinger' in 1964 was probably the most famous car in the world at the time. Aston Martin recently responded to huge public demand for these 'Bond Edition' DB5s by producing 25 replicas. These replicas built in late 2020 and 2021 sold for a huge sum upwards of $3.75M each. I can't begin to imagine what the original car would fetch... Although one of two cars built in 1965 to promote the film sold for $6.4 million in 2019!"

Car Index[]

"This masterpiece of 60s sports car design made its name as the eponymous Bond car."

The DB5 is a sports car produced by Aston Martin that debuted in 1963. It was posed as a direct evolution of the DB4 which received widespread critical acclaim as a high performance sports model.

The basic design was created by Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring with the body made using Touring's patented 'Superleggera' super light construction methods.

The engine is a tuned version of the DB4's inline-6 unit which increases the displacement to 4L and features triple carburettors. The standard model produced 281.1 BHP, while the high performance 'Vantage' model produced 313.6 BHP.

Putting out higher figures than it's Italian V12 equipped rivals, the DB5 is considered to be on of the most representative international supercars of the early 60's.

The car also gained fame through it's numerous movie roles as one of the 'Bond cars' driven by 007 himself in the James Bond film series.

Café Conversations (GT7)[]

Chris[]

This is an icon of British sports cars in the 1960s. They took the highly regarded DB4 and enhanced its performance. The bodywork was done by Carrozzeria Touring. The tuned inline 6 engine was much more powerful than any of its rivals in its day. And the car was a real pleasure to drive. This is the quintessential Aston Martin, and the price is going nowhere but up!

Shiro Nakamura[]

This classy car represents a merging of Italian and British sensibilities, an icon of 1960s British GT cars. The body is almost identical to the DB4. It was made by Carrozzeria Touring as a Superleggera. The door section without a character line, and the simple side proportions are really classic. Then there are the covered headlights that came from the DB5 reflecting the fashion at the time. The tail fin-like design of the rear end is quite American in style... But then this was an era where Italian design was influenced by American motorcars. It's this classic feel combined with modern details that give the DB5 its character. It really is one of the most unique cars from the DB series. Of course it became famous because of James Bond, but it remains a classic in its own right.
