The Audi R8 is a series of Le Mans Prototypes built by Audi. Several versions of the R8 race car have featured in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo (PSP), Gran Turismo 5, and Gran Turismo 6. This car is recognized as one of the most successful race cars in history, due to its winning record in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 2000 to 2005, with the streak interrupted in 2003 by the Bentley Speed 8 '03.
The Audi R8 road car is named after this race car; Audi also produced a number of GT3 class R8 LMS race cars which have featured in Gran Turismo.
