In-game description[]

The TT Cup is a racing car developed by quattro GmbH based on the Audi TT. It is a car made specifically for the one make races started in 2015, the 'Audi Sport TT Cup'.

The road version of the TT coupé utilises aluminium for the outer panels and the upper part of the frame, but the TT Cup car uses carbon fibre for some of the body shell. By further removing comfort equipment, it is over 100 kg lighter than the lightest commercial model on the market, at 1,125 kg.

The engine is the 2.0-litre TFSI inline 4 used at home in Germany. Power is unchanged at 305 BHP, but in order to make the race more interesting with more overtakes, the car is equipped with a push-to-pass button which temporarily gives an additional 29 BHP for a short period of time. The gearbox is the same 6-speed S tronic shared with the road going car.

The front axles are equipped with an electronically controlled Haldex hydraulic limited slip differential, and the driver can adjust the locking ratio from the cockpit.

Though the 'Audi Sport TT Cup' is positioned as an entry level race, the race is sometimes held as an opening race for the DTM. The race has been very popular, and in 2016 there were a total of 125 participating drivers.

Café (GT7)[]

Freeman Thomas[]

Compared to its road counterpart, the 2016 TT Cup is an extremely well-proportioned race car. It is pure excitement! I like how the fender forms evoke the original TT while being bolder and wider. And the red, grey and silver graphics are very on brand. Also, the black wheels are pushed out so far that they add to the car's wonderful stance. Design-wise, it's a bolder and more successful offering!

Trivia[]

  • In 2016, the Audi TT Cup was included as part of SRO's GT4 (the class Gr.4 corresponds to) balance of performance tests[1] and was also used as Audi's TCR representative for the 2015 season of the TCR International Series. The car was eventually replaced by R8 LMS GT4 and RS 3 LMS TCR, respectively, by 2017.
  • Despite this car's mention of a push-to-pass system in its description, it lacks this ability in the games. A push-to-pass system would be labeled as an "overtaking" function, and thus, are mainly used by Gr.X vehicles, the most notable being the Dallara SF19 Super Formula '19, which features said ability.
