In-game descriptionEdit

"The 4th generation M3 equipped with a 414 BHP V8 engine, based on the E92 3 series coupe."

The M3 has represented the top-of-the-line model in BMW's popular 3 Series lineup since the beginning. The car's performance is tuned by the company's M division, which specializes in taking stock BMW cars and making them virtually race ready. With the M3, tweaks have traditionally been performed on the engine, suspension, and aerodynamic parts. The history of the M brand dates back to 1985, and the car represented here is the fourth-generation M3, based on the latest 3 series coupe, the E92.

The E92 M3 measured 181.8 inches long, 71.0 inches wide, and 56.1 inches high, and rode on a 108.6 inch[1] wheelbase. Several years ago, the M3's engine evolved from a 4-cylinder unit to a 6-cylinder in order to keep up with the growing engine power of other performance cars, especially those that competed in touring car races. For this model, BMW took things even further by mounting a 414 HP 4.0-liter V-8 under the hood.

The car's dimensions were larger than the previous model, M engineers trimmed the fat off the stock 3 Series, by installing new components including a high-strength carbon fiber roof, which helped in lowering the car's center of gravity, and aluminum for the suspension parts to reduce weight. As a result, the M3 tipped the scales at a lean 1630 kg.

The M3 came laden with the latest technology, including a 7-speed M DCT drive logic (double clutch transmission), Variable M differential lock, and M Dynamic Mode. The "M Drive" in the M Dynamic Mode is an electronic device that provided combined control of suspension dampening characteristics, DSC, traction control, engine output, and power steering response. Although the M3 was intended to tear up mountain roads and racetracks, it came with a high level of luxury, including leather seats. The E92 M3 was indeed a sports car for the 21st century, and its zero-62 mph time of 4.8 seconds is a testament to the M division's performance, still the company's number one priority.
