"This Gran Turismo original Gr.4 race car maximizes the performance of the M4."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT7's car collection

The BMW M4 Gr.4 is a race car produced by BMW, based on the BMW M4 Coupé '14. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

Colors[]

Five colors are available for this car, they are unnamed in-game and all based on the base car's colors:

  • Sakhir Orange
  • Austin Yellow
  • Yas Marina Blue
  • Silverstone
  • Black Sapphire

Description[]

"The BMW M4 served as the base model for this Gran Turismo-exclusive Gr.4 race car. While the M4 was already a great handling car to begin with, we made it even better by tuning the suspension system. That said, we retained the predictability of the original car, which made it an enjoyable ride for drivers of all levels."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central

The car shares the same description as the base BMW M4 Coupé '14, stating at the bottom that it is specially tuned for Gr.4 regulations by Gran Turismo.

Trivia[]

  • In real life, Ekris Motorsport developed their own version of the GT4-spec M4 since 2015, with BMW Motorsport developing their official version of M4 GT4 since 2017.
    • As the Ekris Motorsport car is an unofficial project (approved by, but not directly from, BMW themselves) and the BMW Motorsport version have yet to exist during the game's development, it is possible these are the reasons for the creation of the fictional M4 Gr.4.
  • The car's default number, #82, is a reference to the car's generation code, F82.
  • The car uses the Enkei NT03RR wheels by default.
  • In the Livery Editor, the car's roof is part of the Other layer; the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4 also features a similar behavior.
  • This car is one of five Gr.4 cars to have an engine swap option available (since version 1.49), the others being the Bugatti Veyron Gr.4 (since version 1.46), the Honda NSX Gr.4 (since version 1.46), the Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) Touring Car (since version 1.26) and the Toyota 86 Gr.4 (since version 1.52).

Notes[]

  1. As GT Sport's servers has been shut down on January 31, 2024, and as the last Manufacturer Series race in GT Sport was held on December 25, 2021, it is no longer possible to obtain the car this way.
