Car Index (GT7)[]
BMW revealed the race spec M6 at the autumn 2015 Frankfurt show, and announced that they will be participating in races under the FIA-GT3 category from 2016 with this new machine dubbed the M6 GT3.
The M6 GT3 replaces the Z4 GT3 that had been racing in the FIA-GT3 category since 2010. Compared to the relatively small Z4 GT3, it is quite large, at roughly 5 m in length, with a width exceeding 2 m. The wheelbase is not only longer than the Z4 GT3, it is also 5 cm longer than the production model to give it better dimensions for both straight-line stability and handling performance.
With very wide fenders on all four corners, an aerodynamic front and rear bumper and a high rear wing, it fills all the checkboxes for a GT race car, while maintaining the beauty of the M6 styling.
The body is made of mostly carbon. The frame structure has been reinforced, and the suspension has received a full makeover, making it quite different from the commercial M6. The engine is a 4.4 liter V8 with the Twin Power Turbo, with various reinforcements and modifications, which allows it to produce 576 BHP stock.
The M6 GT3 M Power is the pilot model that appeared at the announcement of the M6 GT3. The traditional white base with red, black and blue racing colors exemplify the breed of BMW competition machines.
Café Conversations (GT7)[]
Jeremy[]
When designing a race car, the natural impulse is to build something small and light. But this M6 GT3 breaks the mold—with a total length that is 5 cm longer than that of its production model! As for its wheel base—well, it's also long! Really, it's enough to make one fear for its ability to take corners. However, its drivers tell a different story... Praising it for its precise handling and smooth turning. Don't believe them? The truth is, it pulled off a magnificent win on the narrow Macao GP circuit in 2018... Where it was driven by Japanese touring-car master, Seiji Ara.[1] It was truly an incredible race to behold![2]

Trivia[]
- Apart from the livery, the differences between this and the Walkenhorst Motorsport/Endurance Model version are the fog lights and louvered wheel arch vents, which are absent here, reflecting the purpose of each version. Because of this and the fact that the cars are different entities, liveries created are not interchangeable.
- Despite not having any driver names, it is possible to chose the Default option for driver name in GT Sport's Livery Editor; selecting this option is practically equal to the None setting.
- A newer alternate livery based on the 2019 version of the original BMW Motorsport/M Power show car is featured in GT7.

Notes[]
- ↑ This is incorrect, as it was Augusto Farfus who won the FIA GT World Cup at the Macao GP circuit in 2018. Seiji Ara has driven the M6 GT3, but actually in Super GT's GT300 class.
- ↑ Sentence reads in-game as "It was truly incredible race to behold!"
- ↑ As GT Sport's servers has been shut down on January 31, 2024, and as the last Manufacturer Series race in GT Sport was held on December 25, 2021, it is no longer possible to obtain the car this way.
