Cape Ring Periphery (known as Cape Ring Outside in Gran Turismo 5) is an original circuit which features in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6. It is part of the Cape Ring complex alongside the North, South, interior and full circuits. The Periphery circuit comprises the outer parts of the North and South Circuits, connected at the hairpins to create straight sections. The Periphery circuit utilizes the same pit-complex as the main circuit, along the main straight.

Sector 1[]
The lap begins on a long uphill straight, passing the pit complex. About halfway up the straight, the circuit passes the joining point of the North and South circuits. At the top of the hill is a tight, cambered left hander, followed by a tighter, long, double-apex right, followed by a crest. A faster car is liable to leave the ground here, so early braking is advised, ahead of a sharp, blind left-right combination. This leads to a short straight which marks the end of Sector 1, under the shadow of the trademark spiral bridge.
Sector 2[]
The second sector begins with the Spiral bridge, a 360-degree, uphill, constant-radius right-hand turn, which requires pin-point accuracy with throttle control to avoid losing time. At the top the spiral is a jump, which can look spectacular, but lead to destabilisation into the braking point that follows. This braking point is for a tricky, downhill right hander with no run-off. Further down this hill, past the second crossover of the other circuits, is a sharp, off-camber left-right chicane which can be difficult to perfect. This is the end of Sector 2.
Sector 3[]
Sector 3 begins out of the chicane with a downhill run into a bumpy, off-camber, right-left-right-left combination. Lots of time can be lost here if a driver overruns onto the grass, as this would compromise entry into the following turn. A short downhill straight follows, and then a right-hand hairpin. The entry here is very wide, but using all of the road would be ill-advised, as it compromises the exit. The pit entry appears on the left, as the car accelerates up the hill to the end of the lap.
