This category lists cars that meet the Japanese government regulations for a Kei car. The term kei is a shortening of Japanese word "kei-jidōsha", in English this means "light vehicle". This class of vehicle was first introduced 1949, the Japanese government provided restrictions to the class limiting their dimensions and engine size. These restrictions were reviewed again in 1950, 1951, 1955, 1976, 1990 and lastly in 1998.

The class is mostly made up of Japanese vehicle manufacturers, but their has been a selection of International models that has met these requirements to and can be granted Kei car status. Restrictions in previous Gran Turismo games have limited the length to 3400mm or less and having a maximum engine displacement of 660cc.
