Challenge Mode

Challenge Mode is one of the areas accessible in Tourist Trophy's TT Mode (the equivalent to the Gran Turismo series' Simulation, or GT Mode). In this mode, players aim to unlock new motorcycles for use in races, since they cannot be purchased due to the absence of the well-known Credits system.

Following the style of Gran Turismo 4's Driving Missions, these are small events focusing on achieving first place after a handicap start or a limited number of laps. However, as opposed to winning one new car for every group of challenges beaten, players will acquire a new motorcycle for every event passed.

Challenges are grouped by manufacturer. Selecting one will bring up an overview of the available motorcycles. Motorcycles that are not listed here must be won from races or achieving all gold trophies on a particular license. There are four different types of challenges; 3-lap Pass, 2-lap Pass, 1-lap Pass, and Time Trial.

Challenge Types[]

3-lap Pass[]

This challenge has the player attempt to place first on a particular race course within the three-lap limit. The easiest and most common type in this mode.

2-lap Pass[]

This challenge is similar to the 3-lap Pass, however, it is more difficult as the player now only has two laps to achieve first place.

1-lap Pass[]

The most difficult of the passing challenges, the player has only one lap of the course to pass all opponents and achieve first place.

Time Trial[]

This challenge type is used exclusively for the Super-level motorcycles. Players must beat the target time to win the event.

Free Level[]

These motorcycles can be won from Challenge Mode without needing a license. For more information on acquiring these bikes, click on the motorcycle's main article page.

Novice Level[]

These motorcycles can be won from Challenge Mode upon obtaining the Novice License. For more information on acquiring these bikes, click on the motorcycle's main article page.

Junior Level[]

These motorcycles can be won from Challenge Mode upon obtaining the Junior License. For more information on acquiring these bikes, click on the motorcycle's main article page.

Expert Level[]

These motorcycles can be won from Challenge Mode upon obtaining the Expert License. For more information on acquiring these bikes, click on the motorcycle's main article page.

Super Level[]
