The Chevrolet Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept is a concept car made by Chevrolet as part of the Vision Gran Turismo program. It first appeared in Gran Turismo 7 as part of Update 1.62.
Description[]
- "The CX Concept was an electric hypercar designed to carry the legendary Corvette name into the future. Among its variants stood the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo–a machine engineered to break conventions and push boundaries. Built exclusively for the track, it was lighter, sharper, and more aerodynamic than its road-going sibling. At its core were three electric motors, plus a twin-turbo V-8 that used e-fuel, making it ideal for endurance racing. Inside, every detail had been fine-tuned for competition, with a focus on cornering dynamics and steering response. From the outside, its bold yellow-and-black livery recalled Corvette's storied GT racing heritage. As the ultimate high-performance expression of the CX line, the CX.R marked a new chapter in the racing legacy of the iconic Vette."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
Designed purely for the racetrack, the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept pushed the envelope even further. It offered a glimpse into the future of Corvette GT racing.
The Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept possessed a more aggressive aerodynamic package, lower stance, and a lighter build than the standard CX Concept. Underneath, it featured an advanced E-Fuel/Electric hybrid powertrain—two electric motors up front, one at the rear, and a compact, high-revving twin-turbo V-8, delivering both the performance and the efficiency needed for endurance racing.
The interior of the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo was purpose-built for the demands of the race track. Its geometric layout and lightweight seat—with minimal foam trim—offered essential head and neck support to withstand the intense cornering forces expected at racing speeds. The steering wheel featured physical buttons and knobs, ensuring precise control even when wearing racing gloves.
Finished in a striking yellow and black livery, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo paid tribute to 25 years of Corvette GT racing heritage.

Trivia[]
- Subsequent to the announcement of the car, the GM Design logo was removed from the Coming Soon portion of the Vision Gran Turismo page on the Gran Turismo website. Prior to that, it was assumed that GM Design's entry was the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo, although the GM Design logo was never removed from that (or GT6's Vision Gran Turismo dealer) after it was added.
- It is the third most powerful car in the entire series (losing to the Chevrolet Corvette CX Concept '25 and the Dodge SRT Tomahawk X Vision Gran Turismo).
- However, it holds the title of the most powerful turbocharged car.
- In Arcade Mode and Custom Race, it can only be raced one-make.
- The player will wear a unique matte black helmet and suit when racing with the car.
- Its battery recharge and durability are noticeably much lower than that of any other hybrid car, which significantly degrades the car's performance. These issues were fixed in version 1.63, which reduced the car's PP and added manual active aero and battery deployment.
