Strategy[]
- As mentioned in the Typical Opponents list, many of the opponents use tuned-up cars and can be a spike in difficulty if the player is unprepared. Therefore, it is recommended for the player to practice in Time Trial and further tune their car before entering.
- The event also features engine swapped cars, thus it is recommended for the player to tune a car to around the 550-700 HP mark for Fuji and Monza, as the straights are useful for making up the time lost where race cars don’t have.
- Special Stage Route X will need the player to insert a powerful engine swap to keep up with the other opponents while under the 720 PP limit, as they can have an incredibly high amount of HP that makes it near impossible to catch up.
- In addition, if the car the player is using has a customizable transmission installed, the player should adjust the transmission settings so that their car can stay in the optimal RPM that delivers the most power output, resulting in a greater top speed which can make the Route X event easier.
- Special Stage Route X will need the player to insert a powerful engine swap to keep up with the other opponents while under the 720 PP limit, as they can have an incredibly high amount of HP that makes it near impossible to catch up.
- For Watkins Glen, the player should tune a car to around 350-400 HP, while also finding one that delivers good top speed and cornering to ensure the most out of a lap time. Supercars can enter too; albeit they’ll need to be detuned if possible.
- For the 550 PP limit races, a car having about 325-400 HP will do the job. However, that won’t guarantee an easy victory for Tsukuba, as it is a low speed track with hardly any straights and overtaking opportunities. Therefore, softer tires are necessary, unless the player knows the track and rely on luck with the opponents the player come up against.
- The ones with engine swaps, like the Mazda RX-7s or the Volkswagen 1200, are the ones to look out for as they can pull away on the straights, thus making it unlikely for a win to be possible.
- For the race at Goodwood, tune a Mini Cooper as close to the PP limit as possible while having it equipped with Sports: Hard, as the track has hardly any braking zones except for the chicane which can be hard to drive through quickly.
Trivia[]
- Despite certain races requiring specific grades of tires, some opponents actually use compound tires that are disallowed.
- The Honda Beat in Opponent List 1 uses Racing: Hard tires; only Sports grade tires are allowed.
- V. Rodriguez from the Goodwood race uses Comfort: Soft tires; only Sports grade tires are allowed.
- The Honda S660 in Opponent List 2 is equipped with nitrous. However, as the AI does not use nitrous, the upgrade is rendered meaningless.
- Curiously, despite the same car appearing in the Watkins Glen opponent list, it does not have nitrous there.
- Most of the opponents in the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour Mission are derived from Opponent List 1, with additions unique to the race.
- A similar, albeit inverse, situation is the case with Opponent List 2, which features cars used in other events, including those by World Series drivers. As this opponent list was added in Update 1.40, this makes it the first time AI cars from other events were added into a different series post-launch.
- The opponents at Route X are based on the car selection for use in Daily Race A of Sport Mode during selected weeks, starting from the week of May 8th, 2023.
- The list also included tuned versions of the Nissan Z Performance '23, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) '09, and the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02. A similar race was also run during the 2024 pre-season Exhibition Series 1 and 2024 post-season Exhibition Series 2 in the GTWS Nations Cup online season.
- The Z and RX-7 were added to Daily Race A starting from the week of July 3rd, 2023 running of the race, although for that week only, the latter was removed several hours later after that week's running went live.
