The Dodge Charger is a series of automobiles marketed by Dodge intermittently since 1966.
The first four generations of the Charger were produced between 1966 and 1978 and it was based on the Chrysler B platform. The fifth generation of the Charger was produced between 1981 and 1987 and it was based on Chrysler's B platform. The sixth generations Charger is based on the Chrysler LX platform, which was introduced in 2005. In 2011, it was replaced by the seventh generation Charger, which is based the LD platform, an updated version of the LX platform. The eighth generation Charger was introduced in 2024 and is based on the STLA Large platform. If offers a 3 or 5-door liftback, thus succeeding the third generation Dodge Challenger and seventh generation Charger respectively.
