In case you didn't know, the 'SRT' stands for Street and Racing Technology. This group specialises in the development of high-performance automobiles. Needless to say, any vehicle with SRT in the name is not to be underestimated."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
The Charger SRT Hellcat, which was sold from 2014, is a production model with extreme performance capabilities, even when compared to the long history of Dodge Chargers since 1966.
The 3rd generation Charger that debuted in 2005 had the bold styling that was reminiscent of muscle cars of the past, as well as being equipped with the iconic 'Hemi' engine unit that symbolises high performance Chryslers. It gained great popularity as a truly American high performance saloon; there is even a model equipped with a 6.4 L Hemi that produces 470 BHP.
But this Hellcat goes way beyond the norm. SRT, the high performance model development team of Chrysler, developed the car further with no holds barred, creating a supercharged 6.2 L Hemi producing 707 BHP and with a maximum torque of 81.6 kgfm. Combined with a reinforced 8-speed AT, the car reaches supercar level performance, achieving 0-60 mph acceleration in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 328 km/h.
In terms of technology, it is similar to its sibling model that was released just ahead of the Charger, the 2 door Coupé Challenger Hellcat. But the Charger's quarter mile time of 11 seconds is 0.2 seconds faster than the Challenger. These figures greatly exceed that of its European rivals and the car has become the fastest 4 door saloon in the world. Even at this level of performance, the price is only $63,995. Many were surprised not only about its incredible performance but also the fact that it was so reasonably priced.
