"A mid-engine rear-wheel drive version of the Tomahawk for Gr.1 competition."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT7's car collection

The Dodge SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1) is a race-tuned concept car produced by Dodge. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.

This car is an alternate version of the GTS-R variant, which was adapted to fit the Gr.1 class, where cars with performance similar to that of LMP1 cars are competing. As a result, it has drastically decreased its horsepower and noticeably increased its weight, as well as having a traditional rear wing and shark fin installed instead of the Tomahawk's aerodynamic features. Unlike the car on which is based on, the 4WD drivetrain was dropped in favor of an MR layout.

Description[]

"This is a Gr.1 racing car based on the Dodge SRT Tomahawk VGT. The compressed air system has been removed to make it in line with Gr.1 racing regulations. Furthermore, a fixed wing and shark fin have been added, contributing to reduced aerodynamics. Lastly, the drivetrain has been converted from four-wheel to rear-wheel drive."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central

The SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo is a near-future supercar created by Dodge's in-house tuning department, SRT (Street and Racing Technology). This mean machine features next-generation automobile technologies that includes high-tech materials throughout the chassis and a road-surface-sensing active aerodynamics system. Providing the muscle is a 1000-hp V-10 engine mated to pneumatic power units.

The SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1) adopts the core concepts and dynamic nature of the Tomahawk and modifies them for Gr.1 classification.

This version is based on the race spec GTS-R, the lightest model in the series. After overhauling the body, the stock car's active aero parts were scrapped in favor of a fixed rear wing and an aero fin mounted aft of the cockpit.

To reduce weight, the pneumatic power units were removed, while the engine was tuned to produce 693.3 HP. The power train layout has also been changed from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive to comply with regulations.

While it is no longer capable of extreme speeds that transcends the limits of the human body, its superb handling and aerodynamic control remain intact. In endurance races, this model will no doubt put great fear into your opponents.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being a Gr.1 car, tire sticker brands cannot be applied on this car.
  • When the livery is removed upon answering the relevant prompt in the Livery Editor, the car reverts to a metallic version of the Carbon Prototype color, used on the SRT Tomahawk X Vision Gran Turismo.
  • Besides the conversion to MR, there is no hybrid gauge on the in-game HUD when racing this car, suggesting that the pneumatic hybrid system has also been stripped.
    • In addition, its increased weight may either imply that ballast has been applied, or that the carbon graphene material has been greatly reduced to keep the weight in line with Gr.1 regulations.
    • Because of the significantly reduced performance, it is possible that the driver does not need to wear a G-suit to operate the car, similar to the Tomahawk S, which is quicker.
