"The leader of the SRT series, boasting 500/500/500 performance."
―In-game catch text for the car, from GT6's Dealership

The Dodge Viper SRT10 '03 is a road car produced by Dodge. It appears in Gran Turismo 4, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

Colors[]

There are three colors available for this vehicle:

  • Viper Red
  • Viper Black
  • Viper Bright Silver Metallic

In-game description[]

In 2003 the Dodge Viper underwent a full model change, which included changing the name of the Viper RT/10 to the Viper SRT-10. With its long-nosed roadster exterior, it kept the same basic concept, but came equipped with, among other features, a foldable soft top designed to give it a more user friendly feeling than before.

In maintaining the same concept as the previous model, it uses the same mechanical components, including the layout of the engine, suspension system, and 6-speed manual transmission. Nonetheless, in the frame, suspension, and other sections, there are no parts that were taken from the older version.

The engine size was increased slightly from the former model, upgrading from a 488CI to a 505CI (8.3.0L). The maximum output increased from 450 PS (444 HP) to 507 PS (500 HP) and the maximum torque from 490lbs-ft to 500lbs-ft. Incidentally, these numbers are called "500/500/500" (Triple Five Hundred) performance. Dodge uses this as its catch phrase for its high-performance SRT series, including the Viper SRT-10 and Ram SRT-10.

The vehicle is 175.5 inches long, 75.2 inches wide, and 47.6 inches tall, with a 98.8 inch wheel base. The front tread measures 57.8 inches and the rear 60.9 inches. Its dry weight is 1533 kg.

The size of the forged aluminum wheels is 18 inches in diameter at the front and 19inches in the rear with a 13inch width. The spec for the tires are 275/35ZR18 in the front 345/30ZR19 in the rear. Though the size and weight is not an unreasonable figure, but stop and consider that the Viper has the width of a four ton truck, and it puts the personality of the Viper more into perspective.

Trivia[]

  • In GT4, when fully tuned, this car can reach 450 km/h (280 mph), making it the fastest car in the game.
    • When fully tuned in GT5, this car has slightly more HP and less weight compared to other Vipers.
  • A Chrysler version of this car, along with the Dodge SRT4 '03, Dodge Viper GTS '99 and Dodge Viper GTS R Concept '00 was planned to be in Gran Turismo 4 as seen in a televised 3D Motors broadcast featuring footage of an unknown late-2004 GT4 demo build (presumably the TGS 2004 demo build) on Motors TV. Which would have had similar behavior to the Dodge Viper GTS-R (Team Oreca) '00 back in GT3 (outside of the NTSC-U version), being treated under Chrysler instead of Dodge. However, in the final game, only the Dodge variant exists in all versions of the game.
