The F094/S is a race car produced by Polyphony Digital. It only appeared in Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec.

The car is based on the 1994 Williams FW16 driven by Ayrton Senna at the San Marino Grand Prix, where he suffered fatal injuries during the race. The F094/S is the most well-rounded of NTSC's six F1 cars and possesses the highest chassis grip of all cars in the game. The Polyphony001 on the PAL version is a clone of the F094/S, with slight visual differences.

Trivia[]

  • Internally, the car is named "williams_fw16a", alluding to the base car, although Williams never used the "A" suffix to denote first revision of their Formula One cars.
  • Presumably due to an oversight, the F094/S lacks its own Arcade Mode thumbnail. In its place, a slightly darker version of the F686/M's thumbnail is used.
  • Even though the F094/S sports an original livery, the area reserved for the secondary color appears to be based on the Ferrari F93A. Curiously, the Red/White color option bears a resemblance to that particular car.
  • The car also appears in some versions of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue as an unused car hidden in the game files, before being replaced with the Formula Gran Turismo in Gran Turismo 4.
  • As the F1 cars have the highest drag coefficients of all cars in the game, the F094/S is unsuitable for Test Course races such as Like the Wind, as wind resistance greatly limits its acceleration beyond 200mph. The opponents in these events often have top speeds of 235+ mph, making it near-impossible to catch up without slipstreaming.
  • Like all F1 cars in GT3, it is equipped with a special “F1” compound. This compound provides the best grip of all tyre types in the game, far exceeding that of super softs, with the caveat of having the same wear rate. The compound cannot be changed, appearing as “Medium” in-game.
