The Polyphony F686/M is a Formula One style car available in the NTSC-J and NTSC-U versions of Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. It is based on the 1986 Williams FW11 driven by Nigel Mansell to second place in the Formula One World Championship, with teammate Nelson Piquet finishing third and helping Williams win the Constructor's Championship that year. The car is the most powerful of six Formula One style cars in the NTSC versions, and among the best in the game in terms of acceleration and grip.

Trivia[]
- Internally, the car is named "williams_fw11", alluding to the base car.
- Although the actual car used Mobil 1 fuel, the car carries Castrol sponsorship instead. However, the placement of Castrol text logos in the sidepod and rear wings matches the placement of Canon logos in the FW11.
- For undisclosed reasons, the White/Red and White/Teal color options were altered in the NTSC-U version in order to apply the secondary color on the upper part of the car. The car's Arcade Mode thumbnail, which uses the White/Red color, was not updated to reflect this alteration.
- Like other F1 cars in GT3, it is unsuitable for super-high-speed events, such as Like the Wind or Professional Gran Turismo All Stars, as their top speed is around 220 mph. The opponents in these events have top speeds of 235+ mph.
