Trivia[]
- While it is intended to resemble the Camel-sponsored 99T, the car's livery closely resembles the John Player Special-sponsored Lotus F1 cars, such as the 97T and 98T. This is best seen with the black color option, which also featured gold decals.
- This alludes the appearance of the Lotus 97T in GT6 as a part of the Ayrton Senna tribute content.
- As such, this is the only Formula One car in GT3 to have a livery based on a real-life F1 car. Additionally, the yellow color option features the car number #12, Senna's car number that year, as well as blue decals, much like on the actual 99T.
- The "Power by Ikiuo" text (instead of Power by Honda text in the actual car) is a reference to Seiichi Ikiuo, one of Polyphony Digital's programmers.
- It is shown to use Pirelli tires, despite the source car, the 99T, used Goodyear tires instead.
- Internally, the car is named "lotus_99t", alluding to the base car.
- Like other F1 cars in GT3, it is unsuitable for super-high-speed events, such as Like the Wind or Professional Gran Turismo All Stars, as their top speed is around 220 mph. The opponents in these events have top speeds of 235+ mph.
- The livery on this car was revised slightly for the PAL version of the game before it was deleted, with the Elf logo on the nose and the front wing sponsors being replaced by new stickers. This version of the model exists as an unused content in the Chinese-language release of Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo-Geneva.
