In-game description

Since its initial release back in 1967, the Falcon GT was hailed as Ford Australia's "macho" car. This vehicle won Australia's biggest endurance race, the Bathurst 1000, a whopping eight times, making it a national hero. Inheriting this glorious legacy is this new GT, created by FPV (Ford Performance Vehicle) based on the Falcon.

The engine is a 5.4L 4-cam 32-valve V8. It was given the nickname "Boss 290" because the engine generates 290 kW (the equivalent of 389 BHP). That plus a maximum torque rating of 53.0 kgfm made this car Australia's most powerful until the release of the F6 Typhoon, also from FPV.

In terms of performance, the car boasted a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds, a 0-400 m time of 13.9 seconds, and a maximum speed of 254 km/h. Weighing in at over 1800 kg, this car was rather heavy, but offered outstanding handling thanks to double-wishbone suspension in the front, Ford's "Control-Blade" independent suspension in the rear, and the choice of 18 inch wheels.

The GT had a look similar to racing-spec touring cars and was equipped with a front splitter, side skirts and a rear wing. However, for the ultimate GT, you needed the optional side stripes and Brembo performance brakes. In line with the car's race car image, the interior included features like a pushbutton-style starting mechanism. The engine's redline was not even indicated, so drivers could gleefully rev all the way up until the 5500 rpm limiter engaged.

The FPV GT was fast and agile, with racing-level performance. It even won the Australian Touring Car Championship in 2003.
