In-game description[]
- "Ferrari's front-mounted V12 models pay a tribute to a tradition as enduring as the marque itself. Building on the legacy of icons like the 250 series, the Daytona, and the Maranello, the 812 Superfast made its debut in 2017. While its design echoes classic Ferrari elegance, its aerodynamic form its thoroughly modern. The V12 engine has been enlarged to 6.5 liters, producing 800-horsepower,[1] hence the car's numerical designation. With generous 107.1 inches wheelbase typical of grand tourers, the 812 Superfast also offers practical trunk space behind the seats. And thanks to its 4-wheel steering system, this car has remarkably agile handling, making it shine on winding roads."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
Unveiled in 2017, the Ferrari 812 Superfast continued the marque's proud lineage of front-engine V12 grand tourers. Its name—a combination of "800 PS, 12 cylinders"—paid tribute to the output of its naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12, while "Superfast" came from the legendary 500 Superfast of 1964.
The design was shaped by Ferrari's in-house Styling Center. It exuded classical proportions with a long nose and short rear deck—hallmarks of a front-mid-engine V12 layout. Yet, its sculpted aerodynamics and refined detailing placed it in the realm of modern Ferrari elegance. Producing 788 HP and 718Nm (530.2 ft-lb) of torque, the V12 delivered its power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle. The 812 also marked a technological milestone as the first Ferrari to feature electric power steering.
Its dynamics were further enhanced by the Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system—an evolution of the 4-wheel steering setup from the F12berlinetta. The prime benefit of this system was that it resulted in razor-sharp turn-in even on tight, hairpin corners, despite its 107.1 inches wheelbase. With usable cargo space behind the seats and a generously sized rear luggage area, the 812 Superfast offered grand touring capabilities wrapped in pure supercar body.
