In-game description[]

This description is taken from the description page in GT5. It is transcluded from here.

The Toyota Aristo was sold as the Lexus GS 300 in the U.S.

After introducing the first FR sports sedan to come from Japan in years, the Celsior[1], Toyota kept the ball rolling, with the Aristo in 1991. The new 4-door was based on the top Crown model and featured styling that was unique to the segment. The car's exterior was penned by Italdesign. A handsome yet distinctive face highlighted by large headlights and a stately grille helped make the car an instant hit with the Japanese public.

Underneath the sheet metal, the Aristo[2] borrowed heavily from the Crown, including its 3.0-liter DOHC inline-6 that came in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions. The latter was the choice for enthusiasts as it produced 276 BHP and 318.2 lb-ft of torque, as compared to 227 BHP and 209.7 lb-ft of the 2JZ-GE.

And when matched with the Aristo's sport-tuned chassis, the result was a car that could hold its own against sports cars on a winding road. The car was a tremendous success in Japan. In 1993, it marketed the car as the Lexus GS 300 in the U.S. powered by only the naturally aspirated 2JZ-GE[3]. The year before, Toyota added a V8 to the Japan mix, however, it only came mated with the company's "i-Four" all-wheel-drive system and lacked the spirited nature of the turbocharged counterpart.
