In-game description[]

"Ease of use and ease of driving made this car an immediate hit."

Mazda debuted its compact 5-door hatchback, the "Demio" in August 1998. The name "mio" came from Spanish, meaning "mine". This best-selling compact became the supporting backbone for Mazda.

Its most important points were its classic style and the roomy interior. The popular NBA player Scottie Pippen appeared in the television commercial. It boasted that it was an easy-to-use, smart-looking compact car, and was a predecessor to cars like the Toyota Vitz and Honda Fit.

The car is 149.6 inches long, 65.7 inches wide, and 60.4 inches high. The design theme is truly "simple is best". It has a simple square form with a bit of edge to it. Regarding ease of use, with help from its compact size, it had a very small minimum turning radius of 15.4 ft. The rear seats were double-folding, and when laid down, it went completely flat to give an amazing amount of cargo space - enough to fit two mountain bikes.

Two engines were available: the 1.3L SOHC 16-valve inline 4, with 82 BHP, and the 1.5L SOHC 16-valve inline 4, with 99 BHP. Statistically it may look underpowered, but because of the roughly 1 ton weight it drove very well. The transmission was available in a 5-speed MT or 3-speed AT standard, with a 4-speed AT available for some specs.

The suspension was simple, with struts in the front and torsion beam in the rear. The drive-train was limited to FF. The GL-X was the highest spec, with fog lamps, a rear spoiler, UV protective windows, and the 1.5L with 4-speed AT transmission.
