The Red Bull X2019 Competition is a hypothetical concept car produced by Gran Turismo in partnership with Red Bull Racing. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport (as part of Update 1.40) and Gran Turismo 7.

In-game description[]

"This is an evolution of the X2014 created for the FIA Gran Turismo Championships."

'The fastest racing car on earth, free from any and all regulation': The fan car project of Red Bull Racing and Gran Turismo, sparked by this dream of Kazunori Yamauchi, has already produced two ultimate racing machines, the X2010 and X2014. But with the opening of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships, a need arose for a competition vehicle that both the driver and spectators could enjoy. This lead to the birth of the X2019 Competition.

The X2019 Competition is based on the X2014 Standard. On the exterior, the front wing and the rear end of the body was altered to reduce downforce, in order to suppress the drastic change in aerodynamics that would occur in close battles with another car. The front and rear wheel covers have also been changed to allow fast tyre changes. The 2 litre turbo is replaced by a 3 litre naturally aspirated engine, and a more conventional throttle system has been introduced in order to give it a more attractive racing sound.

The X2019 Competition will be painted in the national colours of the Nations Cup finalists according to the home nationality of the drivers. This is a racing machine that will be unmatched in its ability to make the championship more exciting.

Brand Central (GT7)[]

The X2019 Competition is a virtual racer created specifically for Gran Turismo. It represents the pinnacle of race car design. Development began with the X2014 Standard serving as the base model. Downforce was reduced slightly, and the original engine swapped out for a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V-12. It was designed to test the skills of the best drivers in the world, not to mention provide a thrilling racing action.

A Gran Turismo Championship icon and the ultimate racing car. Inaugural series champion Igor Fraga and 2019 champion, Mikail Hızal... Raced this machine at the 2018 GTC finals in Monaco to a near dead heat. I'll never forget the explosive energy in the venue when the winner was announced! The responsiveness of its 3L NA engine is incredible... And its exhaust note is like music! Because of its sharp handling, it requires comprehensive driving skill to master. But if you can tame this beast, you're well on your way to becoming Gran Turismo royalty!

Trivia[]

  • An early name for the car, Red Bull X2014 Competition, was used during the 2019 Gran Turismo World Tour event in Paris; the name was changed for the Nürburgring event.
    • Additionally, the X2014 Competition also appeared on the car filter list on the community Discover section of the Gran Turismo website on March 28, 2019 (the day of release of the previous content update), along with cars for the GT Sport 1.38 update that was released on April 23.
  • The X2019 Competition appears on the cover of the Spec II edition of GT Sport, replacing the Mercedes-AMG GT S '15.
  • In GT7, the 25th Anniversary model features several unique properties compared to the standard model:
    • It is restricted to one-make races in Custom Races, while the regular model has no such restriction.
    • Like the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept Stealth Model and the De Tomaso Mangusta (Christian Dior), the 25th Anniversary model does not have a separate entry in the Car Index, using the standard model's appearance instead. As a result, it cannot be used to substitute the regular model for the Extra Book No. 33 (Red Bull X-Series).
    • The 25th Anniversary model features a unique canopy that has a blue-red shift on the outside. It is not seen from cockpit view and cannot be replicated on the regular version. Styles created for either car are not interchangeable between each other.
    • The 25th Anniversary model does not appear in the Car Appraisal Service at the Used Car Dealership and thus is not sellable.
  • Despite Jeremy mentioning the car having a 3.0 liter engine, the car’s in-game stats do not show a displacement.
