An early screenshot of the Mustang Gr.3, with different sponsors

  • While a sixth-generation Mustang GT3 was never built in real life, there have been GT3-class Mustangs of other generations; namely the fifth-generation FR500GT3 and Marc VDS GT3, as well as the seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang GT3.[1]
  • In pre-release screenshots of GT Sport, there were Gran Turismo logos on the car's doors. The car's fuel/lubricant sponsor was also replaced from Total to Castrol in the final game.
    • The pre-release screenshots also depict the car with yellow light covers by default, but with white fog lights. While the headlight covers were replaced to white in the final game, setting it to yellow also affects the fog lights in the final game.
  • The car is prominently featured in GT Sport's Racing Etiquette videos, performing example of actions what the player should not do during races.
    • This may probably reference a common stereotype of Mustang owners driving recklessly.
