In-game description[]

"A car that brings together the design of the first model and the latest technology."

The Mustang, one of the most prominent sports coupes from the US, had changed directions slowly from the long selling first generation model towards a more luxury oriented character over the years. However the new model that appeared in 2005 was a reincarnation of the highly popular 1st generation design, based on Ford's "Living Legend" strategy. Things that were prominent in the first generation model like reverse slanted front nose, the sleek fastback style and black leather interior, has returned as is but backed by modern technology.

Contrary to the classic exterior, the internal mechanism is the newest available in terms of specs. A newly developed platform was adopted, and the suspension was also redesigned to match. The all aluminum engine comes in a 4L V6 or a 4.6L V8, both available in a 5-speed AT or a 5-speed MT.

The GT is the upper grade model with the V8, and its main attraction is of course its high performance, with an output of 300 HP. The rhythmic characteristics of an American V8 and its exhaust sound gets the driver's blood pumping, and the car has been tuned thoroughly overall. Of course fuel economy has not been overlooked, utilizing a variable valve timing system for this purpose.

The handling brought about by the new chassis is just as enjoyable as the American V8 muscle. The body is very rigid and makes you forget about the size of the body when you are driving. The control feel is direct and real. Contrary to the past, these cars are no longer only fast in a straight line.

Trivia[]

  • The in-game model appears to be based on the models built for export to Japan, as the car's rear bumper has reflectors, the front fenders have side marker turn signals, and the speedometer tops out at 240 km/h, also using metric units instead of imperial ones.
