The Ford Taurus SHO '99 is a sports sedan that was produced by Ford. It appeared in Gran Turismo 2, with later games between Gran Turismo 4 and Gran Turismo 6 featuring the 1998 version of the car.

Trivia

• In Gran Turismo 2, the car originally could be racing modified to resemble Mark Martin's #6 1999 NASCAR Cup Series racer. Due to licensing issues however, this was changed to a more generic livery on the NTSC-U 1.2 and PAL versions (see pictures below.) Interestingly, the NTSC-U Arcade Mode disc was never updated for this change, and thus if the player selects a racing modified Taurus SHO from their Home Garage on Arcade Mode, the original livery will still appear.

A Ford Taurus SHO '98 with racing modifications applied. When Racing Modifications are applied in the NTSC-J and NTSC-U 1.0 and 1.1 versions of Gran Turismo 2, the car's appearance is altered to match that of NASCAR driver Mark Martin's 1999 #6 Valvoline/Eagle One Taurus.

Presumably due to licensing issues with Roush Racing (Mark Martin's team during the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series), the livery was changed to a generic NASCAR-inspired design in the NTSC-U 1.2 and PAL versions of the game.
