Infiniti G35 Coupe '06

In November 2002, a beautiful coupe was added to the lineup of the Infiniti brand of North America. This was the coupe version of the G35 Sedan, a middle range car based on the V35 Skyline in Japan.

The G35 sedan had already debuted 8 months prior in North America, and had been chosen Motor Trend Car of the Year, and as one of the top 10 cars by Car & Driver. With its already welcomed popularity, the appearance of a more specialty car oriented coupe model was in strong demand.

The reason that the G35 gained so much popularity in the U.S. (even taking customers away from BMW) was that the decision of the management led by Carlos Ghosn to rebuild Infiniti as a sporty brand was successful and this was a model that was representative of this direction. The coupe was even more sporty than the sedan (saloon in UK); its styling is beautiful no matter from where you look at it, and with the FR chassis that they are so adept at producing, it provides excellent driving performance. With a 3498cc VQ35DE V6 engine producing 285 BHP/6400rpm and 36.0 kgfm/4800rpm torque, accelerated the car at a level equal to that of the Fairlady Z. This performance combined with a gorgeous interior and a high ride quality, the car balanced all the features desired in a coupe of its class to an extremely high level.

The G35 sedan underwent a model change in 2006, but the sales of the coupe were continued until the G35 coupe concept appeared at the January Detroit Motor Show of that year and was subsequently sold as the G37 coupe.
