"A concept car made by Gran Turismo and Citroën, reborn as a race car."
The "GT by Citroën" announced at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, is a sports concept car in which Citroën and "Gran Turismo" collaborated for the first time.
The car attracted much attention as a new type of concept car, an expression of real and virtual. And it was in the spring of 2009, that a decision was made to run a racing spec version of this machine in the world of GT.
The exterior design is still by Takumi Yamamoto, the designer who created the original. Many sketches were sent to PDI day after day, and as a result, the original fenders were widened, and with the addition of air ducts and other aerodynamic parts, the design took an extremely aggressive turn.
Based on this, the details to make it more racing-car like was left to PDI. Design like the hood pins and tow hooks you would normally see on race cars, the valves for the air jacks, an the layout of sponsor stickers, were all set by PDI.
The other major piece of work left to PDI was the design of the interior. The motif was a modern jet fighter, and while being extremely high tech, it is balanced with the gritty feel of a real racing car.
All parts aside from the dashboard have been replaced, and the steering wheel and HUD (heads-up display) are functional in design as befitting a racing car, while still being as eccentric as the exterior. Though not changed in design, the dashboard is made of carbon, instead of copper. The HUD displays things like speed, engine rpm, steering angle, and horizontal G's.
As a premium car, the GT by Citroën Race Car can be purchased from the Citroën Dealerships for 5,600,000 Credits. It is a Level 21 car. It can also be acquired by winning the Dream Car Championship in B-Spec.
