Genesis Motor is a luxury vehicle automaker launched in 2015. Parent company Hyundai launched two Genesis models under Hyundai in 2008 with their newest rear-wheel drive platform at the time, and after seven years of continued successes and demand for a separate brand, Genesis as a standalone brand was established.

At the 2021 Monterey Car Week, the marque displayed the G70 GR4 and X GR3, designed for their designated racing categories, as well as a Vision Gran Turismo car, planned for inclusions, although neither the marque or Sony have made further announcements prior to the game's launch.[1] The aforementioned race cars were later included in Gran Turismo 7, whilst the Vision Gran Turismo car was released in January 2024, following its launch at the Manufacturers Cup portion of the 2023 Gran Turismo World Series World Finals.

From 2022 to 2024, along with Toyota and Mazda, Genesis was a Gran Turismo World Series sponsor, granting them guaranteed entry in the Manufacturer's Cup. This sponsorship was discontinued starting from the 2025 season.

Trivia[]

  • Genesis has used their guaranteed entry (as a Gran Turismo World Series partner) in the Manufacturers Cup twice, when it did so in 2023 (13th in the standings) and 2024 (17th in the standings). This immunity bumped out 12th place finishers Ferrari (in 2023) and Lamborghini (in 2024) from the respective year's GTWS live events.
    • With Genesis' exit as a GTWS partner in 2025, their 2022 live/pre-recorded season was the only season Genesis qualified as a partner without using the partnership status' guaranteed entry.
