In-game description[]
- "This Gr.3 race car is a Gran Turismo original, based on the Genesis X Concept. The Genesis X Concept was a concept model released in 2020. It incorporated a futuristic design vision, based around the signature "Two Lines" theme. This car took that base model and became an all-new Genesis racing machine!"
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
In April 2021, Hyundai's new premium brand, Genesis, unveiled its Genesis X concept, the brand's interpretation of how GT cars could look in the future.
The front fascia features the shield-shaped crest grille that has become the brand's signature design element. Two lines stretch from the grille to past the front wheel arches and reappear again at the rear of the car to form the taillights. This new-generation example of car styling is part of Genesis calls its "Athletic Elegance" design language.
This car was more than a concept, as Genesis also created a racing edition for Gran Turismo that was inspired by the Genesis X. The Genesis X Gr.3 is a serious Gr.3-spec machine designed to compete in Gran Turismo's fierce championship competition.
The X concept was originally designed as an electric vehicle, but the Genesis X Gr.3 is equipped with a conventional gasoline engine. Thanks in part to forced induction, it produces 542.4 HP. To house the race car's larger tires, the body was widened to 1,991 millimetres (78.4 in), while aerodynamic improvements were added to the underside. Also, a larger rear wing helps make this machine look race-ready.
A combination of luxury and performance, the Genesis X Gr.3 is a radical new type of Gr.3 machine, the likes of which have never been seen before.

Trivia[]
- The concept car it was based on, the Genesis X concept, was originally an electric vehicle. As this car is built to Gr.3 regulations, the car's engine has been replaced with the V6 twin-turbo engine from the Genesis G70. This is reflected in the car's description.
