Single Race
Single Race is a game mode for one player. Here the player can choose a car and a track for a quick race against 5 AI cars of the same class. Once single race is chosen and a level (Easy/Normal/Difficult) is chosen, the player is presented with a selection of manufacturers. Each manufactureres has a different list of cars that the player can choose, and any car can be classified in three classes (A,B, and C). At first, only five manufacturers are available, and other manufacturers can be unlocked, by winning races in arcade mode in all the three classes at difficult level. A full list of these manufacturers can be found at the bottom of this page. Once the car is selected, the player must choose a track. At the start, only four tracks (High Speed Ring,Trial Mountain Circuit, Grand Valley East, and Clubman Stage Route 5) are available to the player, and, like the manufacturers, new circuits can be unlocked by winning races in arcade mode in all the three classes at any level.
Time Trial
Like Single Race, Time trial allows the player to choose a car and a track, but instead of racing against other cars, the player will race in a two or five-lap time trial depending on the settings.
2 Player Battle
Two player Battle is a game mode that allow two human players to race together.
Bonus Items
In Bonus Items (Goodies in the NTSC-J version), the player can check its unlocked contents. Is in this place that the player can access the Ending Movie and the GT HiFi mode, available only when the player wins on all the eight circuits in Arcade Mode.
Load Game/Save Game
