This page is about hidden content found in a Gran Turismo game's resources. This includes unfinished versions of cars and tracks that made it into the final game as well as scrapped content left in the game's files. We have gathered as much information about it as can be found online. Please note that we do not recommend attempting to modify the game to access this content as doing so can make the game unstable and may corrupt your save. Editors: Please ensure the content has been verified against the relevant The Cutting Room Floor page. Unverified information about hidden content may be removed. |
This page lists unused contents in Gran Turismo 2. Unless otherwise noted, all contents on this page are derived from this The Cutting Room Floor page.
Unused Cars[]
The following cars, while not normally accessible, are still part of the final game and can be accessed with cheat devices. For vehicles with no mechanical parts (including racing modifications), they all use the parts data from the Mazda RX-7 A-Spec LM Edition.
- Acura Integra GS and LS (no mechanical parts, but also has racing modifications)
- Honda NSX-R LM GT2 '95 (body still available as an unused racing modification for the Acura NSX '93, with Acura branding)
- An alternate version of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR '98, with a livery from the 1998 Rally Australia
- An earlier version of the Lotus Elise, with a soft top (stored as a racing version of the Lotus Motor Sport Elise '99)
- Mercedes-Benz CLK Race Car (mentioned in the Japanese manual as the "Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM2000")
- Mugen S2000 (no mechanical parts)
- RUF BR2 (no mechanical parts)
- RUF BR4 (no mechanical parts)
- RUF BTR4 (no mechanical parts)
- RUF CR4 (no mechanical parts)
- Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V (has a car description)
- Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 16v
The Racing Modifications for the following cars were cut:
- All Acura NSX and Integra models, except for the Acura INTEGRA GS-R '98, the Acura NSX '91, and the Acura NSX '97 (due to upgrades for the cars other than the mentioned being improperly coded)
- Ford GT40 '66 (uses an earlier version of the Ford GT40 Race Car '69 body, but with no medium or far/low level-of-detail textures)
- Mazda RX-7 GT-C '99 (uses a duplicate of the Mazda RX-7 GT-C LM Edition body, but with #8)
- Nissan SKYLINE GT-R 4door (R33) '97
- Toyota PRIUS '97
The following cars were cut, but logos for them exist in the final game. Unless otherwise mentioned, all of them uses body of a Toyota Altezza for road cars, or the racing modification of the Toyota ALTEZZA 280T for race cars.
- Ford GT40 Mark III Race Car (uses a partially miscolored Ford GT40 Race Car '69 body; mentioned in the Japanese manual as the "Ford GT40 Mark III Normal Model" and the "Ford GT40 Mark III LM Gulf Color")
- Honda Castrol Mugen Accord (in-game as a racing modification for the Honda Accord SiR '96)
- Subaru Rex Supercharger VX
It is worth noting that the cars above can be semi-legitimately obtained by purchasing them from a memory card containing a save data with at least one of the cars above in it.
Additionally, while no traces for the Ford Escort 1.8 GTi '97 can be found in the final game, a car description and logo can be found for it; the description is used for the Ford Escort Rally Car '98 in the Japanese version.
Other Items[]
- Menu panels for a Professional difficulty (with a different style compared to the final difficulty panels) and for a Drag Race mode can be found in the Arcade Mode disc.
- Reverse variants for Laguna Seca Raceway, Super Speedway, and Test Course can be found, although all of them have incomplete AI pathfinding or pit lane definitions.
