This is a list of known glitches and bugs in Gran Turismo 4.
Selecting Unselectable Cars[]

This glitch can be only performed in Arcade Mode. To perform this glitch, the player must add two cars to the "Favorites" list. Upon selecting the Favorites list, the player must select the second car by pressing "Right" and "X" very quickly. If done correctly, the list of color options of the first car will appear on the screen, but the second car will appear shortly after, and it will be the actual car selected by the player (if the player scrolls the list of colors, the color names will be those of the second car). This glitch can be used to bypass restrictions related to the car's usage in certain tracks and/or game modes. It is also possible to use this glitch in order to use the special-colored cars outside of Gran Turismo mode, if the first car has more color options than the second.
Curiously, if the second car has less color options than the first, it is possible to see a "BMW 120d '04" text as a placeholder if the player scrolls the list of colors to the very right.
Opera Paris glitch[]
Occasionally, when driving through the second sector of the Opera Paris course, the race automatically enters the next lap and the fastest lap of the race is also recorded, shown in this video.
