Gran Turismo 7 (commonly abbreviated as GT7) is an upcoming racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console. It will be the eighth major release and fourteenth game overall in the Gran Turismo video game series. It is originally scheduled to be released sometime in 2016 but due to the release of GT Sport in mid 2017, it may be pushed back to have a release sometime between 2018-2022.
Development
In an interview with Japanese magazine, Famitsu (and translated by Polygon.com) series creator Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned that GT7 would be coming to the PlayStation 4 console "in a year or two [from 2013]". He also mentioned that it will be based off the same physics engine that Gran Turismo 6 uses.[1]
In an interview with GamesTM magazine, Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed a release for GT7 sometime in 2015/2016. He also spoke about how much more powerful the game will be on PS4 and how much easier it is to develop on the new console versus GT6 on the PS3.[2]
