In-game description[]

Michel Hommell is an engineer, race-car driver, producer of several automobile magazines and a proprietor of the automobile museum Manoir de l'Automobile. The Frenchman also built compact sports cars. One of his more memorable creations was the high-performance Hommell Berlinette.

With a length of only 162.2 inches, the Berlinette was one of the world's smallest sports cars. It was first released in the early 1990s, and evolved through the years into its final form, the Berlinette RS in 1997. The radical design of the car was created by Eric de Pauw. Mounted transversely amidships was Peugeot's 1998-cc 16-valve DOHC inline-4 that produced 165 HP at 6500 rpm and 144.6 ft-lb of torque at 5500. Mated to this engine was a 6-speed manual gearbox that managed the power to the rear wheels. Thanks to a curb weight of only 950 kg, the Berlinette reached a top speed of 143 mph and ran to 1000 m from a standstill in 26.9 seconds.

The suspension consisted of MacPherson struts up front and a multilink setup at the rear, which helped the Berlinette corner like it was glued to tarmac. Providing grip were 205/45ZR16 tires up front and 225/45ZR16s at the rear. The Berlinette was hand-assembled by skilled craftsmen in a factory located in Hommell's own back yard. This ultra-limited production supercar remains to this day as France's best-kept automotive secret.
