Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer that is featured in the Gran Turismo series. In the original Gran Turismo (American version), Acura and Honda shared the same dealership, mainly because of Acura being an American branch of Honda. It has a reputation for building reliable and economical cars, while on the other hand, they are also notorious for its high-revving engines in its sports cars/hot hatches. Honda's most famous cars are the Civic, Accord, S2000, and NSX.
Honda is also the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Japan and has been since it started production in 1955. At its peak in 1982, Honda manufactured almost three million motorcycles annually. Honda's motorcycles are known for their "sleek & stylish design" and exotic engine configurations.
Honda, through its Mobilityland subsidiary, also owns Suzuka Circuit and Twin Ring Motegi.
Cars of this make are required to win the Take Your Honda Home hidden trophy in Gran Turismo 5.
Honda in Motorsports[]
Honda dominated the Formula 1 scene for a while, as Honda-powered Formula 1 cars (such as the McLaren MP4/4) took famous drivers like Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost to victory from 1988-1991, and once more with Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen in 2021 (his subsequent titles from 2022 to 2024 were under Red Bull Powertrains banner, otherwise with reduced Honda involvement). Honda also have participated in American open-wheel racing since 1994 and Super GT since 1996, although full factory support did not arrive until the following year.
Honda Racing Corporation or HRC, the name of Honda's two-wheel motorsports operations, first entered in the Isle of Man TT event in 1959. Since then, HRC has been a dominant and active competitor in Grand Prix (MotoGP), Superbike, and Motocross events, picking up more than 250 first-place finishes and producing multiple champions.
Starting in 2022, the HRC branding was also extended to their four-wheel racing programs.
From 2023, HRC also maintains a presence in Gran Turismo's esports through the Honda Racing eMS GT event.

Trivia[]
- The theme music for the Honda dealership in the NTSC-J version of GT1 is "Final Lap", which would be subsequently remixed as the course selection theme music for GT4's Gran Turismo Mode.
- Due to the Honda/Acura dealership split in GT2, the Honda dealership has a different picture in the US version, featuring the S2000. The NTSC-J and PAL version features the NSX instead.
- A racing version of the Honda CBR600F4i with Tourist Trophy branding is present in the files of Gran Turismo Concept. Along with a Yamaha YZR500 used in the 1999 MotoGP season, both were presumably used for early development of the game when it was still based on Gran Turismo Concept codebase.[2]
