In-game description[]
"A high-spec model that's not just fast; the top of the line 7th generation Accord."
The Accord Euro-R, based on the sixth-gen Accord, proved such a hit with enthusiasts that for the seventh generation, Honda decided to make it the star of the lineup. Like BMW's M brand and Mercedes-Benz's AMG, Honda's "R" model represented super high performance, enabling its products to be competitive, both on the race track as well as the open road.
The Euro R shared the same dimensions as the new Accord-183.6 inches, 69.2 inches, and 57.0 inches in length, width, and height, but underneath the sheet metal, the Euro R featured a more rigid body and better suspension.
Under the hood, Honda placed its prize K20A motor that powered the Civic Type R. In the Euro R, this 2.0-liter DOHC inline-4 cranked out 217 HP at a screaming 8000 rpm, resulting in 108 HP per liter. Despite its high-revving nature, Honda ensured this motor wasn't harsh by incorporating vibration-dampening balance shafts.
The gearbox was a 6-speed manual--the first time seen in an Accord. Because of close gear ratios from 3rd to the final gear, the Euro R excelled through mid and high-speed corners, and having a helical LSD didn't hurt either. Flashy 17-in. aluminum wheels, a honeycomb mesh grille, MOMO steering wheel, aluminum shift knobs, and Recaro seats made the Euro R look and feel the part of a high-performance machine.
