"The sixth generation Civic Type R is known as the FK8. The engine is a 2L, straight-four turbo, providing 315.5 BHP of power and over 40 kgfm of torque. This limited edition run was released in 2020. It boasts a custom-tuned suspension and a 20 kg weight reduction. Its other eye-catching feature is the Sunlight Yellow body, which harks back to the first-ten Civic Type R EK9."

Car Index (GT7)[]

The debut of the 5th generation Honda Civic Type R was in 2017. The biggest difference of this Type R from previous models was that it was no longer a performance boosted model based on the standard Civic, but a car specifically designed to be a Type R from the beginning.

This allowed the car to utilize specialized designs for core technical aspects like the suspension, making it possible to use vastly different designs from the standard models.

The engine is carried over from the previous generation but improved by an additional 9.8 BHP to 315.5 BHP by fine tuning the engine control system. These changes increased the overall speed of the car, reclaiming the fastest time for a production front wheel drive on the Nürburgring Nordschleife at 7 minutes, 43.80 seconds.

The limited edition sold in 2020 is a model that further improves the quality of its driving performance. By equipping special forged wheels and removing soundproofing materials, the car was made 20 kg lighter, and further refined with specialized damper and EPS tuning. The limited world production run of 1000 cars of course sold out immediately.

The Type R is an aggressively-styled 4-door hatchback coupé. What sets it apart... Is that it's like an action movie with lots of special effects! First you notice the big rear wing... Then the aggressive front flares. The front is emphasised by huge side nostrils and a NACA duct on the bonnet! The great stance is set up by the tyres, extended to the edges. You'll also notice the big red Brembo brake callipers behind the glossy black wheels.
